Description
Novritsch SSG10 A3 Sniper Rifle
Novritsch has done it again with the superb SSG10 A3 variant of his tried and tested SSG10 platform; boasting the same impressive internals and high performance as the original but coupled with the MLC-S2 Chassis from Maple Leaf. The Maple Leaf chassis makes the SSG10 a whole new beast when it comes to handling and accessorisation, furnishing the rifle with all the most modern attachment interfaces from front to back so you can really kit her out to kill!
Starting at the tip of the 21-inch outer barrel we can find a muzzle cap which conceals female threading beneath. As it comes, the SSG10 A3 does not have the ability to mount a tracer unit or suppressor but aftermarket adapters can be purchased if you want a more sneaky look. The barrel itself is spiral fluted, a Novritsch hallmark which marks the gun out as one of his. The spiral fluting is well finished and makes the SSG10 A3 stand out amongst standard, smooth-barreled sniper rifles.
Moving rearwards, we come to the front of the Maple Leaf MLC-S2 chassis which is one of the highlights of the rifle overall. The chassis is constructed from rock solid high-density polymer with metal inserts on each side providing M-LOK negative space attachment slots in the perfect spot to mount a two-piece M-LOK bipod or any other M-LOK parts you need to complete your mission.
On either side of the barrel, once the kit is assembled, you have a set of four threaded holes which are designed to affix an upcoming 20mm Picatinny mount from Novritsch, positioned as such to allow for night vision optics and thermals to be mounted in front of a standard day scope. Just below the foremost threaded holes, we have a QD sling socket on each side which can be paired with the rear QD sling sockets at the rear of the chassis to mount QD sling swivels and a two-point rifle sling.
Speaking of bipods, we are also treated to a 20mm Picatinny rail at the front of the chassis which is well suited to mount a 20mm Picatinny bipod, offering two configurations for either vertical or horizontal mounting. The vertical mount position may seem strange, but this can be used to great effect to get closer to the ground when mounting certain types of bipod which gives you a little bit of extra cover which can make a big difference to concealment!
The magazine well is also at the front, as it is on all VSR platform sniper rifles, and has a simple push button magazine release located inside the magwell at the front. The SSG10 A3 is compatible with VSR-10 platform magazines from various brands, but we recommend sticking with the Novritsch Transparent SSG10 magazines for the best fit. Just behind the actual magazine well there are also tracks upon which you can mount an aftermarket Novritsch faux magazine spare mag holder, just another trick up the SSG10 A3’s sleeve!
The sides of the chassis are reduced in profile, both to save weight and to contribute to the SSG10 A3’s ultra-slick, modern aesthetic. The trigger guard is enlarged and squared off, giving you plenty of space for full-finger gloves, and the trigger is a flat design, fitting in well with other Novritsch platforms and providing a smooth and positive trigger pull with a very short travel length.
The receiver of the SSG10 A3 is constructed from alloy, complete with the appropriate Novritsch markings laser engraved on the left side. The top of the receiver sports a 20mm Picatinny rail, allowing for a riflescope to be mounted so you can make the most of the impressive accuracy and range the SSG10 A3 is capable of. The rail is weight reduced in the centre, removing unnecessary material to contribute to the lightweight and agile feel of the rifle.
The bolt handle is extended and enlarged but set at an angle which prevents it from interfering with an optical sight when mounted. The knob of the bolt handle features deep texturing to promote a positive grip and keep the bolt controllable and easily cocked even in wet weather or when you are caked in woodland mud. The bolt pull is remarkably smooth for a rifle with this level of muzzle energy which is down to the stainless steel cylinder and well designed trigger parts, giving you the best of low friction components with strength where needed.
The pistol grip provided with the SSG10 A3 set is a PTS Syndicate EPG GBBR which is constructed from Dupont Zytel polymer with a comfortable anti-slip texture on either side and a filled-out backstrap to provide extra support for the web of the hand. This grip is much lauded in the Airsoft community for its comfortable design based on the real steel Magpul MOE grip but can be swapped out for any GBBR or real steel spec M4/AR-15 pistol grip if you have a preferred grip style. Just above the pistol grip we have our rear QD sling sockets which are present on either side, ready for a QD sling swivel to be mounted along with your choice of sling.
Bringing up the rear of the chassis we can find the stock and the 1913/20mm Picatinny interface to which it is mounted. The 1913 interface allows you to mount a variety of different stocks, from M4 buffer tubes to low profile stocks and even the Visor stock, designed for use with full face masks and respirators.
The standard Maple Leaf stock is ideal for a sniper rifle, featuring a low weight skeletonised design which folds to the right side of the rifle, indexing perfectly with the extended bolt handle with no chance of interference. The stock also has an adjustable cheek piece which can be raised and lowered from the right side using an Allen key and an adjustable butt plate which can be extended to suit those with longer arms. To access the butt plate adjustment, simply pull the rubber butt plate off the rifle to access the Allen bolts beneath.
Naturally, the primary strength of the SSG10 platform is in its internals, boasting some of the best parts out there hand-picked by Novritsch himself. The cylinder is constructed from stainless steel for flawless air seal, strength and low friction, the piston is machined from aluminium using CNC technology, the trigger parts are a mix of aircraft grade aluminium and steel and the spring guide is also steel, guaranteeing the strength needed to handle high power springs.
The 6.01mm tightbore inner barrel is also stabilised with a pair of barrel spacers, an essential mod for a sniper rifle if accuracy is a priority, and it should be! The HOP-up unit has a steel HOP-up arm for the perfect application of pressure to the pre-installed Maple Leaf 60-degree Autobot bucking for absolutely flawless accuracy down range.
If you want to get into sniping but do so with both feet, the Novritsch SSG10 A3 would be a fine choice, hybridizing the performance of the original SSG10 A1 with the positively awesome Maple Leaf MLC-S2 chassis. All you need is a scope and a ghillie suit to get busy in the woods harassing the enemy at long range, no need to worry about upgrading or tuning as it has all been done for you!

Special Instructions
The SSG10 A3 is supplied as a kit and will require assembly before it is ready to use. The parts supplied in the kit are as follows: SSG10 Action, PTS Syndicate EPG GBBR Grip, Maple Leaf MLC-S2 Chassis w/Novritsch butt plate. All tools to complete assembly are provided in the kit.
The original magazine release assembly will first need to be removed from the SSG10 action and the magazine release assembly supplied with the MLC-S2 chassis must be mounted to the SSG10 action using the screws which mount the original magazine release assembly.
With this done, you can attach the PTS Syndicate EPG to the chassis using the Allen bolt provided.
With the chassis and action both assembled, the two can be bedded together by lowering the action into the chassis and securing the 3 screws through the bottom of the chassis. The first screw is located at the front of the chassis, inset into the bipod rail, the second screw is in the centre of the chassis and the final screw is just in front of the pistol grip, on the trigger guard.
When installing the action of the SSG10 platform into the stock, it is important that the receiver is seated properly and that all screws are tightened down. Failure to do so can cause damage to the magazine catch and feeding mechanism. If you’re struggling with installation, we recommend contacting us so we can talk you through it.
It is important that these screws are not over-tightened as this can cause damage to the internal parts, simply tightening them to hand tight is sufficient to keep the chassis attached securely to the action.
